Notes - Robert, his brother John, and Robert's son were among those who took passage
from Ipswich, England in the ship "Francis"--bound for New England--in April
1634. Their wives must have come in a later vessel. They settled in Salem,
MA, and land was granted to them in 1637. Robert joined the First Church of
Salem on Oct. 1, 1643, and two weeks later, three of his children were
baptised there. Robert died--probably July or August of 1644. His will was
brought into court at Salem on Aug. 27, 1644.
