  • Notes
    • Joseph came from Newbury, England. At age 24 he sailed from Southamption on
the last of April 1638 in the ship Confidence, of London. He settled in
Newbury, MA near the Atlantic coast. Shortly after Joseph came to N. England
his brother, Nathan Parker followed. Nathan's second wife, Mary, was hung as
a witch in 1692. Joseph and Nathan both moved inland to Andover in 1645, and
they helped to organize the first church. Joseph owned a tannery and had a
      corn mill.
